3Com PalmPilot and IBM WorkPad
get Skin’d by IntelliGolf

Seattle, Washington, November 12, 1997 - Karrier Communications, marketers of "sports enhancing software", today announced the IntelliGolf software for use on 3Com’s PalmPilot and IBM’s WorkPad handheld computers. IntelliGolf allows up to four golfers to score, analyze and review statistics on their golf game, download course information from the Internet, and compute real-time winnings based on golf’s most popular wagering games, including Skins.

Two versions of IntelliGolf are immediately available: the Par and Birdie editions.

Par Edition

Prior to starting a round, golfers enter hole distances, par ratings, hole handicaps and select which wagering games to play, on the handheld. Fourteen wagering games are included such as Skins, Stroke Play, Greenies and Nassaus. During the round, scores are entered using the handheld’s stylus, or a golf tee, just as a pencil and score card would be used today. At any time, golfers can review their score, winnings, and round statistics via intuitive on-screen graphs.

Birdie Edition

The Birdie edition includes two additional components: 1) Microsoft Windows 95/NT software for round archival and score card printing; and 2) Internet downloading of hole distances, par ratings, and hole handicaps for some of the world’s most popular courses, reducing handheld setup time. In addition, Birdie golfers can upload new course information to IntelliGolf’s web site for all Birdie golfers to share.
