Golfers Go High-Tech for Holiday Season

Seattle, Washington, November 16, 1998 - Karrier Communications, marketers of IntelliGolf; Golf's #1 Scorecard Software for 3Com® connected organizers and IBM® WorkPads™, today announced the immediate availability of the IntelliGolf Birdie edition on CD-ROM for the holiday season. "Until today, IntelliGolf has only been available via the Internet," said Craig Schmidt, president of Karrier Communications. "Customers have been asking for IntelliGolf on CD-ROM as a stocking stuffer." he said. IntelliGolf is immediately available through all Franklin Covey, RCS Computer Experience, The Mobile Office Outfitter and UnPlug.It stores as well as most popular Internet commerce resellers.

Product Overview
IntelliGolf includes three major components: 1) handheld software, 2) desktop software, and 3) Internet golf course downloads. IntelliGolf's handheld software runs on all 3Com connected organizers including the Palm IIITM, PalmPilotTM Personal and PalmPilot Professional editions, Pilot 5000 and Pilot 1000, as well as IBM WorkPads. Golfers enter scores, putts, and drive distances using the handheld's stylus, or a golf tee, just as they would use a pencil and scorecard today. IntelliGolf tabulates all scores, calculates statistics and presents real-time performance graphs for up to four players. In addition, IntelliGolf offers 17 sidegames including Skins, Sandies, Nicklauses, and British Stablefords for friendly wagering.

• Print scorecards - as they would appear using traditional pencil/paper methods, and
• Output golf results in HTML format for web page presentation (i.e. tournaments).

IntelliGolf also includes the ability to connect to IntelliGolf's Internet server to upload and download golf courses from around the world. Thousands of courses have been uploaded by IntelliGolfers including Pebble Beach, Yarra Bend and Royal Charbourg, making it one of the largest virtual communities of golfers on the Internet. As players travel, courses can immediately be downloaded from IntelliGolf's server including course location, hole yardages and handicaps, par, slope, and rating information for both men's and women's tees. This saves players valuable data entry time at the course.
