Many of the smartphones on the market today have embedded GPS chips in them. However, most of these devices are not accurate enough for golf (> 10 yards/meters of accuracy). While accuracy outside of 10 meter/yards may be fine for driving directions, it is really not accurate enough for golf. However, IntelliGolfers worldwide have reported that the AT&T Tilt, HTC Ty Tn II, Motorola Q 9 c/h/m, Samsung Blackjack II, and others (see below) are providing accuracy levels within 1-3 meters/yards. That equals the accuracy levels provided by most dedicated GPS range finders. This is excellent news!
Note: If you own a GPS-enabled smartphone that is working well with IntelliGolf, please feel free to send us an email at info@intelligolf.com with the product's full name and the accuracy levels that you are experiencing. We'd be glad to add it to the table below. BTW - You can always download and install the Eagle edition's free "trial" version and give the GPS chip in your smartphone a try! Click here see our list of IntelliGolf products. If your phone's accuracy level is outside of 10 yards/meters, please consider adding a Bluetooth-based GPS receiver to your system (more below). They work great!
